The tracks are drawn for the 15th day of each month.
The tracks are running from red to blue to gray.
(Apr, May, Jun; Jul; Aug, Sep: right to left)
(Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar: left to right)
The first gray number is at the perihelion of the orbit.
Numbers are drawn every 30 minutes.
The numbers give the velocities in pixel/hour for the C2 1024*1024 images.

The elements used are the weighted means of the elements of the 14 Kracht group comets (2002 October):

q = 0.0483, peri = 53.5, node = 48.5, incl = 13.6 deg (L = 101.2, B = +10.8).

The weights are the lengths of the observation times (last obs - first obs).

C/1999 M3 0.54 days (from T-0.30 to +0.24 days in C2)
C/1999 N6 0.54 days (from T-0.18 to +0.36 days in C2)
C/2000 O3 1.28 days (from T-0.72 to -0.22 in C3 and from T-0.04 to +0.56 days in C2)
C/2001 Q7 0.14 days (from T+0.05 to +0.19 days in C2)

Mean elements of the first 36 Kracht group comets:

q = 0.0481, peri = 55.4, node = 46.9, incl = 13.5 deg (L = 101.6, B = +10.9).

All observations are close to the time of perihelion (T).
In C3 the times are from T-0.72 to T+0.78 and in C2 the times are from T-0.62 to T+0.99 days.
The following C2 tracks run from T-0.75 to T+0.75 days.









Tracks of the known Kracht comets (2002 Jul 22):

C/1999 M3 (1999 June 30 09:30 - 22:30 UTC) MPEC 2002-E18
Drawn are the mean Kracht orbit for 16:00 UTC and the measured positions (black circles).
The apparent track runs through the upper left corners of the drawn numbers.

The velocities derived from the positions are 72 (09:30 - 11:30) and 72 pixel/h (20:30 - 22:30).
The comet moves right to left (west to east).

C/1999 N6 (1999 July 12 02:55 - 15:54 UTC) MPEC 2002-F03
Drawn are the mean Kracht orbit for 09:00 UTC and the measured positions (black circles).

The velocities derived from the positions are 72 (02:55 - 04:55) and 72 pixel/h (13:54 - 15:54).
The comet moves right to left (west to east).

C/2000 O3 (1999 July 30-31 21:30 - 12:06 UTC) MPEC 2000-Q09
Drawn are the mean Kracht orbit for 05:00 UTC and the measured positions (black circles).

The velocities derived from the positions are 64 (21:30 - 23:32) and 62 pixel/h (10:06 - 12:06).
The comet moves right to left (west to east).
The comet was visible in C3 July 30 05:30 - 15:18.

 

C/2001 Q7 (2001 August 21 20:27 - 23:50 UTC) MPEC 2001-R36, 2002-F43

The velocities derived from the positions are 60 (20:27 - 22:27) and 63 pixel/h (21:50 - 23:50).
The comet moves right to left (west to east).

C/2001 Q8 (2001 August 24 20:50 - 25 00:50 UTC) MPEC 2002-O35

The velocities derived from the positions are 58 (20:50 - 21:50) and 62 pixel/h (23:50 - 00:50).
The comet moves right to left (west to east).

C/2001 R8 (2001 September 06 19:32 - 23:54 UTC) MPEC 2002-O35

The velocities derived from the positions are 52 (19:32 - 20:31) and 56 pixel/h (23:06 - 23:54).
The comet moves right to left (west to east).

C/2001 R9 (2001 September 07 12:06 - 13:55 UTC) MPEC 2002-O35

The velocities derived from the positions are 49 (12:06 - 12:54) and 51 pixel/h (12:54 - 13:55).
The comet moves right to left (west to east).



Other low inclination comets:

C/1999 R1 (1999 September 04 21:30 - 05 02:06 UTC) MPEC 1999-R19
Drawn are the mean Kracht orbit for 23:48 UTC and the measured positions (black circles).

The velocities derived from the positions are 54 (21:30 - 22:30) and 48 pixel/h (00:54 - 02:06).
The comet moves left to right (east to west).
The track doesn't fit, but looks similar to the October tracks.
With the mean Kracht orbit for 1999 Oct 20 23:48 UTC there is a good fit:

C/1999 R1 could be related to the Kracht group.

C/1999 R1 has returned as P/2003 R5 and 2007 R5 (orbital period 4.0 years).
It belongs to a small group ("Kracht2").

C/2001 D1 (2001 February 18 09:45 - 12:35 UTC) MPEC 2002-O27
Drawn are the mean Kracht orbit for 11:10 UTC and the measured positions (black circles).

The velocities derived from the positions are 67 (09:45 - 10:45) and 70 pixel/h (11:35 - 12:35).
The comet moves right to left (west to east).
The mean Kracht track runs from left to right, C/2001 D1 seems not to be related with the Kracht group.

C/2001 D1 and the mean Kracht orbit for 2001 July 28 11:10 UTC:

There is only a weak relationship and this is certainly not a member of the Kracht group.

C/2001 D1 has returned as 2004 X7 and 2008 S2 (orbital period 3.8 years). MPEC 2008-S82
